A FAMILY-RUN personalised embroidered gifts company has landed a deal to market a new range of OLDHAM RLFC merchandise – just six months after starting up.
Maisie Lou Designs, based in Lees, was set up by mum-of-two Becky Nowell last November after she left her job as a senior Crown Prosecutor to pursue her passion for arts and crafts.
After beginning by making bespoke products for friends’ children five years ago, Becky, 36, took the leap to set up her own business and soon sealed local and commercial contracts.
And she revealed this latest deal is down to her husband Matt, who is a lifelong Roughyeds’ supporter but always struggled to find gifts from the club for Christmases and birthdays.
Becky said: “The club doesn’t really have much for fans and we’re really pleased to be helping provide this range. It promotes us but also helps others as well.
“We’re getting busy now but I’m really enjoying it. We’re also starting other projects, which include donating money to my daughter’s school for every order we get.”
Matt added: “We felt this would benefit both Oldham RLFC and Maisie Lou Designs while making available a wide range of quality merchandise at competitive prices.
“We hold the stock, so the club doesn’t need to have capital tied up or to face a major outlay initially.”
The rugby range includes knitted hats for children and adults, bags, mouse mats, mugs, teddy bears, towels and blankets – all priced between £7 and £17.
And more items will soon be available, such as car stickers, dressing gowns and baby grows.
Other Maisie Lou products include personalised baby blankets, clothing, rag dolls, bags, wedding items, hooded tops and clothing for adults.
