SIXTEEN MOPED riders are hitting the road to travel from Saddleworth to Matlock to raise money in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
Phil Grundy, from Simply Signs in Diggle, and his group of friends – who have been dubed ‘The Moped Mafia’ are taking on the challenge on Saturday, October 1.
They are starting the sponsored ride from The Gate Inn, Diggle, at 11am, and are aiming to raise £1,000 to help the charity.
Then on Sunday, October 2, The Gate Inn are hosting a welcome home event for the bikers, where there there will be live bands playing and donations collected.
‘The Cherries’ will get the afternoon started with some fantastic Bluegrass, followed by ‘Worst Kept Secret’ and to finish it all off ‘Still No Name’. Call The Gate now to book a table: 01457 879100.
