THERE HAS been further successes for Uppermill Football Club’s junior teams.

The under-12 Blues beat AFC Stanley 5-1 in the final of the East Manchester League Cup to complete a double as they had already won the league. They suffered no defeats in 2014.
The under-12 Whites squandered a 2-0 lead as they lost 5-2 to Droylsden in the final of the East Manchester League Cup.
They finished runners-up in both league and cup, a great achievement in their first season.
There was a defeat for the under-13 girls’ team which lost 2-0 to Moston Brook in the final of the North Manchester Girls’ League’s Martin Harding Trophy.
In last month’s Independent, we reported on the club’s other successes at junior level.

These included the under-15’s winning all 22 league matches to claim the second division title in the Huddersfield Junior Football League.
Also unbeaten all season were the under-13’s who were crowned second division champions in the Huddersfield League. They won 21 and drew their three remaining fixtures.
The under-11 Golds won the East Manchester League’s first division title in style as they lost only one game.
There was also silverware for the under-14’s who lifted the Huddersfield Junior League Trophy.
The under-eights beat Heyside Junior Blues 7-0 in the final of East Manchester League’s League’s Leopard Cup.

There were two goals apiece for Harry Thornley and Oscar Newton and one each for Josh Ainsworth, Max Thompson and Tyler Chalk.
The club’s junior section holds its annual presentations at Uppermill Civic Hall on Sunday, June 15 starting at 4pm.
