New bar licence sees Greenfield Con Club open doors to all

GREENFIELD CONSERVATIVE Club is throwing its doors open to all after obtaining a new public bar licence and freshening up its interior.

The club, on Chew Valley Road, was previously a private club for members but is now welcoming in the whole community after securing its new licence and a new coat of paint throughout.

Visitors can enjoy a drink in the small lounge or spend time in the games room, which is complete with a full size snooker table, pool table and a darts area.

And there is also a fantastic function room complete seating for up to 120 plus a stage and dancing area, which can be arranged in a variety of different ways to accommodate different events.

All three rooms can be hired throughout the day or evening for all types of occasions, including birthdays, weddings and fundraising events.

The club, which the management team want the community to see as a village asset, is already home to numerous local clubs, including a line dancing class each Monday and Backstep Boogie each Thursday evening.

There is currently availability on Wednesday evening suitable for a group or club looking for a regular venue, with a large private car park at the rear for easy access.

The club also supports local causes and associations including Greenfield and Grasscroft Whit Friday band contest committee, Saddleworth Anglers, Border Angels, Greenfield Brass Band, Oldham Wizards Motorbike Club, Broadway Swing and Jazz Band, and Saddleworth Snooker League.

And live entertainment and music nights are held regularly at the club, with upcoming events including Mojo Rising on Saturday, February 21 and Tony Simons on Saturday, March 7.

Then there will be Blanc Canvas on Saturday, April 4 followed by Lucy Valentine on Saturday, April 25. All events are 8pm until late and tickets cost £3 from the club.
