THE START of the new golf season at Saddleworth is officially underway following the captain and lady captain’s drive-ins on a gloriously sunny day.
Winner of the four-ball Stableford in the men’s event were David Taylor and Alex Jackson with 46 points.
Runners-up were Mike Jackson and Bryn Parfitt (45pts) on the card from Paul Saxon and Steve Boustead.
Jonny Fancy and Nick Marner were fourth with 44 points while captain Dean Jagger and president Dave Pullen, paired together, amassed 40.
Lady captain’s drive in was followed by a 12-hole competition that was won by Lady Captain and Lady Vice-Captain who joined together.
In the evening 93 members and guests sat down for a meal with entertainment provided by Morgan.
