A BRAND new pre-school and baby rooms have been launched at a private Scouthead nursery as the new owners help to give children the best start in life.
Tory and Rafael Fernandez renamed Saddleworth Nursery at Huddersfield Road ‘Saddleworth Stars’ after they took over in May this year.
Along with the new name came the opening of a pre-school room for three to five year olds and a ‘Little Stars’ baby room providing quality care for babies from just three months old.
Rafael and Tory, who have three children, were inspired to work in the nursery industry and create the ‘The Perfect Nursery’ after the birth of their second child.
Tory said: “At Saddleworth Stars we understand every child is unique and it is our mission to provide the best possible environment to nurture and encourage the development of every individual child – and to have lots of fun doing it!”
New longer opening hours of 7.30am to 6pm have been welcomed by parents and the nursery now provides breakfast and essential items at no extra charge.
Ongoing development plans include a vegetable garden where the children will grow their own food for a ‘field to fork’ programme.
Manager Zoe Mayhew, who has worked at the nursery for 18 years, said: “We are all very excited to welcome the upgrades made by Tory and Rafael.
“The new equipment and rooms are amazing – the children here couldn’t be happier.”
The nursery also boasts extensive private grounds for children to play in and take part in outdoor classroom sessions while extra-curricular activities like languages, dance, music and sports are also offered.
And Saddleworth Stars is proud to have every single member of staff fully qualified as a childcare practitioner, with most staff holding degree qualifications in early years education.
Despite the changes, Rafael and Tory are determined to maintain the ethos of the nursery, which was established almost forty years ago by now-retired Valerie Locklin.
Saddleworth Stars Private Day Nursery is open for children aged three months to five years from 7.30am to 6pm five days a week. There are also before and after school club and holiday clubs.
