BRIT Pop favourites Dodgy are heading back to Oldham for a town centre showpiece event later this month.
The indie band best known for hits ‘Staying out for the Summer’ and ‘Good Enough’ are headlining Oldham LIVE on Saturday, August 25.
Also appearing at this free family entertainment and musical festival is another 1980s popster Owen Paul, best known for his hit ‘My Favourite Waste of Time’, who also worked with Mike and the Mechanics.
“This line-up has something for everyone”, said Cllr Sean Fielding, Leader of Oldham Council.
The live music gets underway from around 6pm, building up to an appearance by Dodgy who headlined a sell-out show at Uppermill Civic Hall last year.
The band enjoyed 12 top-40 singles, racking up a million in record sales.
Also on the bill are Brit Award nominees Sweet Female Attitude, whose massive number two chart hit ‘Flowers’ is considered a classic old school garage anthem.
There will be a set from Ella Shaw, the Britain’s Got Talent 2015 semi-finalist plus Revolution 96.2 DJ, Dave Sweetmore.
“We’ve got some great best-selling music acts to enjoy in the evening and the daytime is going to be a great interactive family event not to be missed,” added Cllr Fielding.
From 12noon #OldhamLIVE focuses on fun for all the family.
Sid Sloane, CBeebies’ longest-serving presenter, is headlining the stage show with an interactive Gameshow perfect for all.
There’s also Russ Brown’s puppet show, plus madcap antics and magic from Andy B.
