And more than 60 businesses in the town centre offering some great discounts to those currently serving Queen and country, as well as reservists.
Councillor Jim McMahon, Leader of Oldham Council, said: “Oldham Council is proud of our men and women who serve in the armed forces and the borough has always supported and honoured them.
“Armed Forces Day is a good way to show our appreciation of the work that service personnel do.
“I’m pleased so many local businesses have answered our call to arms and are doing their bit and getting involved.”
Among the businesses who have signed up are Skidmore Cycles and Simpson’s Jewellers, which are offering 10 per cent off all purchases.
All businesses that are part of the Discounts Scheme will display a sticker in their windows.
If you are a member of the armed forces (Army, Royal Nay and RAF) to take advantage of the discounts just show a valid you military ID card when you make a purchase. The discount only applies to the card holder.
If you are a business owner and would like to get involved in the initiative you can sign up.
