Oldham town centre is gearing up for the annual Vintage and Classic Car Show.
The free event, which has been organised by Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club with support from Oldham Town Centre Partnership, returns on Sunday 9 July, 10.30am – 3.30pm.
There’ll be around 50 different vintage cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles to browse in Parliament Square.
The vehicles on display will get any petrol head excited as the cars include pre-war tourers, classic sports, American classics and the luxurious cars only the lucky can get their hands on.
Alongside the pistons, injectors and alloys there will be a host of automotive entertainment including some special guests all the way from Radiator Springs.
The Campervan of Love dance show will also be trundling into Parliament Square, entertaining crowds with their mischievous dance moves.
Watch out for the comedy Traffic Wardens roaming around the town centre giving shoppers some afternoon laughs.
When you’ve had a look at all the vintage cars you can race your friends and become the champion on a huge Scalextric track – provided by Stonerig Raceway.
“The event continues to grow every year and it’s now a fixture that I’m sure everyone looks forward to.
“Visitors will be able to enjoy the attractions and shops our town centre has to offer while they view the cars – including the stunning Old Town Hall development, Independent Quarter, Tommyfield Market Hall and Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre”
Vehicles will be judged during the show under 10 different categories – with one owner being presented with the ‘Car of the Show’ title.
Entry to the show is free and anyone wishing to showcase their car can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0161 770 4516. More information can be found online at http://www.visitoldham.com/
