Among the winners was Laura Earnshaw from Oldham Local Studies and Archives who picked up the award for Outstanding Contribution from a Young Volunteer.

Laura made a tremendous contribution towards the Heritage Lottery funded World War One project ‘On the Trail of the Oldham Pals’.

As part of this project Laura carried out extensive research, uncovering material that was used in the Oldham Pals Town Trail, exhibition and website.

Volunteers from Oldham Local Studies and Archives were also among the winners of the Archives and Records Association Volunteer Award for 2015.

This is a national award presented to all the volunteers across Greater Manchester who contributed to GM1914, a joint project between archives and local studies services to explore the impact of the Great War on local communities.
