Oldham Council is encouraging locals to be part of the 14th annual event on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July as individuals or in a team.

This challenge is a 40-mile hike that starts and finishes at Daisy Nook Country Park, with the Castleshaw Centre the end of day one and the start of day two.

Experienced walkers can take up the challenge with the added advantage of event support, while others may wish to join a guided walk.

Entry is just £6.50 per person and this includes water available from staffed checkpoints along the route and transport to and from Castleshaw Centre.

It is a non-competitive event for all the family, groups and individuals.
