PANCAKE-LOVING youngsters can flip their way to a prize by taking part in ‘The Big Flip’ 2016.
Tommyfield Market and Oldham Council are encouraging children aged six to 12 years old to enter the competition on Saturday, February 6 at Tommy’s Field inside the Market Hall.
At the event, which is in its second year, contestants have to see how many times they can flip a pancake in 30 seconds.
The winners will take home £20 to spend in Tommyfield Market Hall and there are also three different prize vouchers up for grabs.
And DJ pancake chef will be on hand to dish out a good dollop of fun, jokes and music – while feeding hungry shoppers.
The competition will take place at intervals throughout the day – 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm – opposite Denton’s jewellers and Stationery Corner.
There will be categories for six to nine year olds and for ten to 12 year olds, and participants will only have one attempt to bag the prize vouchers.
Visitors can also learn how to make a pancake the right way and take home free recipe cards to use on Shrove Tuesday, 9 February.
There will also be entertainment in the market hall throughout the day from 11am – 3pm, including free face painting, free balloon modelling and more.
And send your best picture, video or tweet from the day to @oldhammarkets
