THERE are treats and special offers in store as an Uppermill designer childrenswear shop invites everyone to join them for their 25th birthday celebrations on Saturday, August 17.
Puddleducks was first opened in August 1994 by Alison McCabe on the village High Street on the first floor above All Wrapped Up.
The popular shop was soon bursting at the seams and after 10 years moved to its current larger premises at 125 High Street.
Alison, who lives in Grotton, explained: “I had the shop and wasn’t sure what to do so I looked around the village and saw no one else was doing children’s clothing.
“That’s what I decided to do. The business has grown over the years and we now have a website and send out parcels every day worldwide.
“We have now got parents coming in whose parents bought clothes for them when they were children, which is lovely.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have supported us over the years.”
The store stocks an extensive range of branded designer clothing for children from birth to 16 years old, which changes seasonally, as well as cuddly Jellycat soft toys.
Alison has developed the shop with the help of Sue from the start, mum Joyce, who still helps one day a week, and step-daughter Lauren.
And to celebrate the milestone birthday, Puddleducks is hosting a special event on Saturday, August 17, with customers old and new all welcome.
There will be a candy cart with free sweets for the children, and a glass of fizz for mums and dads.
Every purchase will earn the shopper free entry into a raffle to win a huge Jellycat bunny worth £80, with tickets also on sale for £1, with proceeds going to Francis House.
And make sure to grab some great bargains as all summer clothing is now half price, there are £5 and £10 clearance rails, and 10 per cent discounts off new winter clothing.
