Pirates will be taking to the water in Uppermill this Bank Holiday weekend as the popular Little Blue Boat returns with two days of special family trips.
The charity-run boat will be transformed for its latest pirate days on Sunday, August 30 and Monday, August 31, offering short cruises along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
Trips will depart from the canal behind Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill, starting at 11am and continuing until around 4pm on both days.
Young passengers are being encouraged to get into the spirit of the occasion by arriving dressed in their best pirate outfits, although all children must be accompanied by an adult.
And it is not just for youngsters, with adults also welcome aboard for a leisurely cruise along the canal.
There is no set fare for the trips. Instead, passengers are asked to make a donation towards keeping the boats running and supporting the charity’s wider work.
Money raised helps with the viability and promotion of the Huddersfield Narrow and Broad canals, ensuring the waterways can continue to be enjoyed by local communities and visitors.
