Police appeal for information after woman confronted by robbers at her Lees home

POLICE ARE appealing for information after a woman was confronted by robbers as she returned home in Lees. GMP logo

At 4pm on Monday 21 September 2015 a 42-year-old woman and her two children returned to her home on Beckett Street to find her front door open.

As she went into the house, three men who had been inside ran past her brandishing a metal bar. They made off in the direction of St John Street.

It was then discovered that three rings, two silver and one gold, had been stolen from the house.

The first man is described as white, 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a balaclava and a black tracksuit.

The second man is described as white, in his early 20s, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 5in tall, of chubby build and was wearing a ski mask.

The third man is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, has a round face and was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Detective Constable Simon Halliwell of Oldham division said: “The woman was terrified to be confronted by men brandishing a metal bar when she was with her two children.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the men fleeing or who may have been offered gold rings to buy in the area to contact police.”
