Police appeal for witnesses after collision in Mossley leaves man with life threatening injuries

GMP logoPOLICE ARE appealing for witnesses after a man was left with life threatening injuries following a collision in Mossley.

Shortly after 10:50pm on Tuesday 6 October 2015, police were called to Manchester Road, close to the junction of Egmont Street, to reports of a collision between a Peugeot 206 and a VW Fox.

Officers attended and found the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot with serious head and internal injuries and he was taken to Salford Royal hospital, where his condition is described as life-threatening.

The 32-year-old man who was driving the VW Fox sustained minor injuries during the collision.

PC Philip Turley said: “The driver of the Peugeot 206 sustained very serious head and internal injuries and is currently in hospital in a life threatening condition.

“Given the timing of the collision, we understand there may not have been many people around to witness it however I would like to appeal to anyone that did or anyone with information to please contact the police.”
