POLICE ARE searching for occupants who abandoned a car “hanging over a cliff” after a serious crash on Huddersfield Road in Delph.
Police were called to the incident on the evening of Wednesday, January 13 and found the damaged Audi A4, along with a smashed lamppost and dry stone wall – but no occupants of the vehicle.
Police and the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team attended the scene and Huddersfield Road was temporarily closed off.

A spokesperson for GMP confirmed: “We were called last night at 8.45pm to a report that a car was ‘hanging over a cliff’.
“It was a Silver Audi A4 that had collided with a lamppost and then had ended up with its back wheels hanging over the edge of a large drop.
“The occupants had made off and enquiries are ongoing to trace them.”
