Potential foster carers invited to find out more at information evening

Oldham Council is inviting potential foster carers to an information evening on Thursday 3 August from 5.30-7pm, at Oldham Library.

The event will provide those interested with more information about becoming a foster carer as well as the opportunity to ask any questions in an informal and friendly setting.

Everyone is welcome, whether they are ready to apply or if they just want to find out a bit more and pick up an information pack.

All types of people make great carers. People can apply to foster regardless of marital status, sexuality, race or religion, or whether they are in work or have a disability.

Applicants need to be over 21, have a spare bedroom and enjoy working with children.

Carers receive extensive support, including their own social worker, an emergency support line, ongoing training and a generous financial package up to £29,000 per annum.

Call 0161 770 6600 or go to www.oldham.gov.uk/fostering to find out more.
