PEOPLE in Saddleworth have been told their electricity supply will be in full working order as soon as possible.
Power cuts affected the area on three separate occasions, sending much of Uppermill High Street into darkness on Tuesday.
Now Electricity North West says the fault on an underground cable will be repaired, ensuring a consistent supply to homes and businesses.
A spokesperson said: “Two faults on an underground cable have caused intermittent power cuts impacting 3,500 customers in Saddleworth and the surrounding area recently.
“Our engineers have responded quickly to the first power outage on the 6th July which lasted two minutes, the outage on the 13th July which lasted one minute and the most recent fault today, (17th July).
“Power was quickly restored to the majority of customers this morning and our engineers are still onsite working to get the remaining 1,000 customers back on as quickly as possible this afternoon.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and if any customers would like any further information they can get in touch with us online, on social media and by calling us on the free 105 number.”
