Prizes for pool players at end of season

SADDLEWORTH Charity Pool League held its end of season presentation night at Lees Red Lion where the hosts won the majority of the trophies.

A league and cup double as well as their players winning the end of season singles and doubles knock out tournaments.

The evening was a great success and they remembered two stalwarts of the league with trophies in memory of them. The Anthony Holden Trophy (team knockout) was presented to winning captain Simon Longley of the Red Lion by his nephew Jack Holden and the Melvin Jackson Trophy (top eight merit play-off winner) was presented by Christine Jackson.

League: winners Lees Red Lion; runners-up, Shepherds Boy.

Most Gallons: Lees Red Lion, Shepherds Boy and Uppermill Commercial.
Individual Merit: Nigel Bird (Oddfellows).

Top Eight Merit Play-Off: Nigel Bird (Oddfellows).

Team Knockout: winners Lees Red Lion; runners-up Uppermill Commercial.

Second Chance Cup: winners Diggle The Gate; runners-up, Uppermill Cricket Club.
Team Doubles Cup: winners Hare and Hounds; runners-up The Granby.

Singles Knockout: winner Farat Buta, runner-up Mark Wrigglesworth.

Doubles Knockout: winners Mark Wrigglesworth and Jacob Roberts; runners-up Dennis Mortin and Steve Warhurst.
