Saddleworth Rangers take on Rochdale Mayfield – a side two divisions above them – in their Oldham Standard Cup semi-final tie on Wednesday, February 22.
Rangers beat the same opponents in last year’s final to lift the trophy and will be looking for another victory to continue their hopes of back-to-back wins.
Craig Farrimond, first team coach, said a win would also be a great opportunity to boost morale ahead of their National Conference League, division two season in March.
He said: “We beat Mayfield in the final last year and showed we can beat them. We want to retain our title.
“I’m going there with my strongest team and I want to win. It would be a massive confidence boost ahead of the new season.”
Saddleworth Rangers play away at Rochdale Mayfield on Wednesday, February 22, kick-off 7.30pm. The final will be played on Good Friday, April 14.
