Saddleworth Charity Pool League welcomes new team as season gets underway

THE NEW Saddleworth Charity Pool League season is underway and this season features 15 teams, which is one more than last season.

There are two new venues where games are to be played, Greenfield Conservative Club and Springhead Top House, but unfortunately two have been lost, Diggle Hanging Gate and Mossley Church Inn.

The league comprises two teams from Uppermill Commercial, Mossley Blazing Rag and Springhead Liberal Club along with teams from Waterhead Shepherds Boy, Waterhead Church Inn, Delph Club, Uppermill Granby, Uppermill Sports & Social (Cricket Club), Woodbrook Spinners, Springhead Top House, Greenfield Conservative Club and finally Denshaw Oddfellows.

All these teams would welcome new and former players should they wish to get involved.

The league will be again be of two divisions and will, during the season, include league fixtures, team knockouts and singles and doubles tournaments and will run until Wednesday, June 1.

So if you fancy a midweek night out through the winter get down to your local venue and find out more.
