A DENSHAW farmer sadly passed away and left his farm to his two sons, Bill and Joe.
He also said they should each have one of his two much-loved horses, and they could decide which horse went to each son.
Bill and Joe sat down at the kitchen table and tried to decide which horse each would inherit.
The first question was how could they tell each horse from the other?
“Well, they are both the same height,” Bill said.
“You’re right,” answered Joe, “and they both have similar heads, and even their teeth are the same.”
They then went through every feature they could think of but sadly still could not separate them.
As a result of this impasse they spent all the evening trying to find a way to solve their problem.
Just before midnight their mother came downstairs and said: “Hast tha not found a way to tell difference yet? If not, why doesn’t one of you just take the brown one and t’other the grey?”
