Around 150 people gathered in St Chad’s Gardens, Uppermill to mark the first anniversary of the Manchester Arena bomb atrocity.
A remembrance service was led by the Reverend Canon Sharon Jones, Saddleworth’s team rector, who lit a candle for each of the 22 people who died on May 22, 2017.
Prayers were said and readings given during the 15-minute service at the Peace Pole in the centre of the gardens.
Among those paying their respects with Rev Canon Jones were members of Saddleworth Youth Council and the outgoing Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shadab Qumer and his wife, Sobia Arshi.
In Manchester, Prince William and Prime Minister Theresa May joined families of victims at a service in Manchester Cathedral.
The day of remembrance also included a national minute’s silence and a mass sing-along in Manchester.
