The 27-year-old former Saddleworth Hockey Club player is back in the international spotlight.

After being dropped by England for the end-of-year Champions Trophy in Argentina, Nicola was recalled to the Great Britain squad for a series of three friendlies in Valencia, Spain.

Nicola featured in all three games, starting two, and helping Great Britain secure two wins and a draw.

It is a big year as Great Britain has Olympic Games qualifiers while England hosts the European Championships at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Nicola, whose grandmother lives in Dobcross, may well be playing at the former Olympic venue before then for club side Holcombe.

The Kent club is still challenging for a top four finish in the Investec Women’s Premier League which will qualify them for the Investec Women’s Finals on April 18/19.

Nicola, who joined the newly-promoted club at the start of the season, has scored eight goals and is joint third top scorer in the premier division.
