THE YEAR seven Rugby League team from Saddleworth School has won through to the last 16 of the Carnegie National Schools’ Cup.
In the second round, Saddleworth recorded an emphatic 36-0 victory against Hope Valley School from the Midlands,
A hat-trick of tries from player-of-the-match Nolan Tupaea was accompanied by touchdowns from Jacob Mitchell, Lucas Wilkes and Luke Beswick.
Jack Sinfield was faultless with the boot converting all six tries.

Saddleworth had been due to play opponents from Wales in the last 16, but they pulled out of the competition.
That has given Saddleworth a quarter-final place later this month against competition favourites, St Peter’s, from Wigan.
