SADDLEWORTH School’s year eight basketball team has been crowned Oldham champions.
They became cup kings of basketball following a tournament staged at the Sport For All Centre, Hollinwood.
The team registered four wins and suffered one defeat (against Oasis Academy) in the group stages of the competition but cranked up their level of performance to turn the tables on Oasis 12-5 in the semi-final.
Saddleworth left their best display for the final where they were victorious over Failsworth 19-8 to become Oldham champions.
The most valuable player was awarded to Blake Morgan.
