

THE GREATER Manchester Sainsbury’s School Games, held at the Manchester’s SportCity complex, saw Saddleworth School finish a highly creditable fifth place in the athletics.
Eighteen schools from throughout the county took part in the athletics.
Individually Harrison Jackson was seventh overall which included second place in the jumping events and third in the sprints.
Cavan Purtill also starred as he finished in 11th place.
In the primary school events, Friezland claimed third place in the year three/four golf.
Their team was Sebastian Eastwood, Myles Ley, Alexander Buchanan, Harry Reeves, Remi Carter, Phoebe Skidmore, Victoria Holt, Myla Baker, Isabel Jackson, Isabel Smith
And St Chads were 10th in the netball as they won five of their eight matches.
Delph Primary also competed in the netball and tennis.
