SPRINGHEAD ART Group is inviting guest artists to showcase their work alongside their own at their annual Open Exhibition in aid of the community centre.
The popular event will be open to the public on 22-30 October daily from 1-4pm at the community centre on Ashes Lane, with refreshments available.
Gill Lees, artist and member of the group, said: “We are working hard on our own work to create another great event to raise essential funds for the centre’s ongoing maintenance and refurbishment.
“We are inviting guest artists to exhibit with us – one framed painting per person at £2 per entry, and up to three mounted artworks for the browser.”
Delivery of work is between 1.30-3.30pm, Tuesdays only and the last submission date is Tuesday, October 11. For more information please call Gill: 0161 652 5172.
Alongside the exhibition. various fun activities will be taking place at the centre during most afternoons, including three special events.
On Sunday, October 22 is the free Preview Party, including wine and buffet nibbles for friends, family and the public to enjoy as they view the display of impressive and varied local talent.
Then on Tuesday, October 24 from 1-4, Les Darlow, a professional artist and demonstrator, will be introducing the joys of pastel painting.
And on Saturday, October 29, Gail Haynes, another excellent professional artist, will be showing off the skills of oil painting.
