The year seven rugby squad is shaping up very nicely ahead of a busy campaign.
Twenty two of the new recruits formed two teams which took part in the Oldham Schools’ year seven rugby festival at Manor Park.
‘Team Fish’ was led by Daniel Fish with Sam Thackeray the captain of ‘Team Thackeray.’
Both outfits equipped themselves brilliantly on the night remaining unbeaten in nine matches despite some awful weather conditions. Outstanding individual performances came from Kieran O’Reilly, who scored seven tries, and Kien Molloy who displayed an excellent array of passing skills.
Next up is a 13-a-side match against Penketh School, Warrington.
The year eight rugby team recorded six victories and drew one game on their way to winning the Oldham Schools’ rugby league festival staged at Manor Park.
Displaying a fantastic array of handling skills, the team scored some fabulous tries throughout the tournament.
Congratulations to all 11 boys involved were Dan Boulter, Joe Wallace, Joe Molden, Joe Wheeler, Max Ramsker, Asa Rogers, Eddie Adams, Alex Gardner, Ben Forster, Billy Travis and Jack Harrison-Brown.
