STATUS QUO legend John Coghlan will headline a star-filled line-up to give locals an afternoon to remember at the ninth annual Party in the Party.

The extravaganza, organised by the Wake Up Delph Committee, will be held on Saturday, September 20 at the Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club, with gates opening at 3pm.
And a fantastic bill of singers, bands, entertainers and performers has been arranged to make sure guests get on their feet and enjoy the popular event.
In a major coup, the organisers have secured the talents of one of the four original members of Status Quo, John Coghlan, and his band – John Coghlan’s Quo.
Phil Beckwith, one of the organisers: said: “John, who has just finished touring with the four original Quo members, will bring the fantastic Quo sound to Delph and is sure to get the place rocking.
“Also back by huge demand are possibly the best band that have played at this fantastic event – the Kaiser Monkey Killers, otherwise known as the KMK, who took Delph by storm last year.
“On the bill also will be arguably the UK’s number one tribute to Robbie Williams – Danny Lowry, a fantastic entertainer in his own right.
“And to bring a bit of sunshine to the party there will be the fantastic reggae sounds of Tanni, jammin’ with the crowds.”

Black Garter will open the event and for the first time there will be a showcase of local talent from youngsters from Oldham’s youth organisation Mahdlo.
The superb Delph Band will close the event with a Last Night of the Proms finale, with Gilbert Symes leading the way for ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’, before a fantastic, huge fireworks display.
Phil added: “This year the event is already proving as popular as ever as all the corporate packages, sponsorship and gazebo pitches have already been booked up.
“The event is now possibly Saddleworth’s number one outside, family-friendly, musical party which again brings a fantastic line-up and again Delph will rock.
“It was intended to just be one event to raise funds for the village but we’re still going strong and looking forward to our tenth anniversary next year.”

Party in the Park raises funds to provide a fantastic Christmas Lights and switch-on ceremony for the village, which will be on Saturday, November 29 this year.
The Wake Up Delph Committee and a hard-working volunteers also use funds to provide floral displays and hanging baskets to brighten up the village.
