DR KERSHAW’S Hospice has opened registration for its ever-popular Hospice to Hospice Walk.
The 7.25-mile walk, kindly sponsored by Zen Office, will take place on Sunday, April 29, with a 10.30am start.
It will be the 12th year of the Hospice-to-Hospice Walk that takes a route from the Turf Lane Hospice to Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and back.
It brings hundreds of supporters from both fantastic organisations together for a fundraising special.
Supporters often walk in memory of a loved one while others do it to get fit or just for fun, with some even getting dressed up for the occasion!
Pre-registration costs £7 per person (£10 if registering on the day between 9.15 and 10.15am).
Walkers get refreshments at the halfway point and sandwiches back at Dr Kershaw’s once the walk is completed.
Springhill supporters do a similar walk with a halfway stop at Dr Kershaw’s.
“This is a real family event – dogs are welcome too – and we are really hoping to top the 400-mark that took part in 2017,” said event organiser Vicky Stackhouse.
“Early registration really does help us with the pre-event organisation.
“You can walk as individuals or in groups. It is going to be a fun day and raise substantial funds along the way.”
A spokesman for Zen Office said they were delighted to sponsor the Hospice to Hospice Walk for a second successive year.
“We are keen on building relationships throughout the Hospice and have enjoyed working with Dr Kershaw’s historically for their stationery, print and interior needs.
“We believe the walk is a special occasion for all involved and hope the day is filled with fun, remembrance and raises a great amount for a caring pillar of the Oldham community.”
