Success for young Greenfield cricketers

WHAT A great season it has been for Greenfield Cricket Club’s all-conquering under-13 side.

They have landed the league and cup double in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League.

The first piece of silverware secured was the league as they went through the entire season unbeaten.

And there was more success when they won the Philip Whitehead Trophy for a second successive year defeating Glodwick by seven wickets in the final.

Under-13’s coach Chris Barlow says there lots of great individual performances, but he doesn’t want to single anybody out as they had all done brilliantly.

“We are lucky to have some talented cricketers. Seven of the boys have been together since the age of seven and their hard work is now paying off,” he said.
