A KIND-HEARTED music-loving teenager has set himself the ultimate challenge of performing 24 gigs in just 24 hours all in aid of Dr Kershaws Hospice.
Kieran McMahon will start on Friday, July 10 at 9pm at the Spinners Arms, Springhead and finish on Saturday 11 at Delph Club at 7.30pm.
In between, he will take in an array of pubs and venues across Saddleworth, as well as a handful of private house gigs.
He plans to turn up to each venue and perform 20 to 25-minute sets before collecting donations and shooting off to the next venue.
Kieran also did a fundraiser for Dr Kershaws last year where he played guitar for more than 100 gruelling hours and he is hoping to get some good donations again this time around.
He explained: “I try to do something every now and again for Dr Kershaws as its a cause very close to my heart.
“There shouldn’t be a problem managing the gig but I will have to get a power kip in the day before!”
Kieran, who has his own record label called Sharma Records, will be performing some of his own songs as well as classic covers including The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis.
All the gigs are free apart from the grande finale which is a ticket only event at Delph club, where other bands will also be performing.
Tickets cost just £5 and are available from Kieran by phoning 07873 332591 or at Delph Club.
Keep up to date with the challenge and get information on the venues included on Facebook or follow Kieran on twitter @kieranmcmahonuk
