A DAZZLING array of beers and ciders from across the globe went down a treat as The Saddleworth Beer Festival raised around £900 for good causes.

Almost 200 people turned up over the two-day event at the Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill to choose from a line-up of around 20 old favourites and new brews.
The fastest selling beer was Jaipur from Thornbridge Brewery, closely followed by Mary Jane IPA from Ilkley Brewery.
Also completely selling out were Thirst Born from Greenfield Brewery and New Zealand Pale Ale from Hawkshead Brewery.
Drinkers also enjoyed a choice of ciders and international bottled beers from the Saddleworth Real Ale Company, including delights from Belgium, America, Australia and Germany.
A tasty dinner of pie and peas was provided by Andrea Roebuck and the Little Saddleworth Pie Company while live music kept guests entertained throughout the weekend.
Peter Archer, one of the organisers, explained that funds raised will be donated to the Royal British Legion as well as contributing towards crucial repairs needed at Uppermill Conservative Club.

He said: “The Club badly needs its roof fixed as the nails are rotten and the rain is coming in so it’s a big priority. The money will go towards helping that, along with possible Lottery funding.
“The Festival went well and I’m pleased with how much we’ve raised. We are grateful to the Museum for letting us use the venue.
“The beers and ciders were all popular and the pies from Andrea went down very well too.
“The live entertainment was fantastic and people really enjoyed the Open Mic night on the Saturday. There were some quite amusing songs picked and it was very enjoyable.”
