BARRY Shaw-Allan and Dave Chapman triumphed in the Schofield Shield at Saddleworth Golf Club, a competition that had a thrilling finish.

Only one point separated the top three pairs in the four-ball Stableford with Shaw-Allan and Chapman winning on the card from Simon Halliwell and Kevin Bradbury as they, too, returned 71 points.
In third place with 70 were Nick Marner and Martin Heap.
Captains Charity Day saw Mark Orme and Simon Taylor top the leaderboard in the four-ball Stableford with 45 points.
Runners up were Darren Cudlip and Dave Green (44pts) while third place went to Ben Pullen and Nick Kerin (42pts) on the card from Martin Orme and Cliff Bird, Joe Ridley and Carl Davidson.
The Village Shield is an annual event when members form teams from the Saddleworth villages in which they live.
The winning team was Rest of the World of Giacomo Cavallino (49pts), Andy Stott (47), Roy Dobson (46) and Steven Wild (44). Cavallino was the individual winner.
A yellow ball competition, run alongside the Village Shield, was won by the team of Alex and Mike Jackson and John Nuttall with 51 points.
A turkey bogey saw Nigel Rhodes and Simon Taylor (12up) triumph from Ben Pullen and Martin Heap (11up), Stuart Hunter and John Healey (8up).
Graham Hirst and Barrie Lees were winners of a Turkey Sunningdale competition with a nett 71 on the card Nick Kerin and Kev Bradbury. Third were Ben Pullen and Cavallino (72).
A Winter League four-ball Stableford produced victory for Mark Orme and Stewart Potts with 48 points.
Runners up were Andrew Leech and Mark Baldwin (45pts) on the card from Paul Clough and Matthew Plummer.
* A women’s two-ball Stableford was won by Sue Booth with 44 points. Runner up was Jenny Knight (40pts) on the card from Fiona Heston.
