Uppermill’s Our Place proving a hit for many

AN UPPERMILL café is proving the latest popular addition to its thriving food and drink scene.

Our Place, on the village’s High Street, is the new incarnation of what was BLOC after its owners had to sell just eight months after opening because of family circumstances – namely they are expecting a baby.

And if the early days are anything to go by, Our Place looks like it could be many people’s place.

Expect branding to appear as co-owners Hannah McNicol and Jamie Alaise settle in.

They said after a ‘ripper’ of an opening weekend: “You lot are keeping us busy!

“Thank you to everyone who has come for a visit. It’s been so lovely meeting some new faces and seeing some old friends too.”

And on the emerging branding, they added: “Sneaking little hints of colour, so you can see the vibes we will be going for inside.”

From serving pulled brisket toasties to avocado on toast with poached eggs, Our Place is proving a popular place to sit back and relax while enjoying the hustle and bustle of the high street.

And once the refurbishment is complete, it will be open in the evenings.

Our Place is currently open on Monday-Friday from 7.30am until 5pm and from 9am until 5pm on Saturday.

On Sunday, it is open between 9am and 4pm.
