VILLAGE Pets on Court Street Uppermill is celebrating a busy first year in business under the ownership of Tom and Mike Railt.
The shop has seen many changes since they took over from owner of 12 years Gary Winterbottom.
Under the watchful eye of manager Rachel Hilton and her English springer spaniels Oscar and Bella, the shop has been expanded and new ranges have been brought.
Customers can now choose from an extensive supply including Hurtta harnesses and clothing, Haltis, flexi leads, cones to stop your dog scratching, flexible joints, eardrops, calcium tablets, puppy milk, bowls, shampoo and Clix training dumbells.
There is also a tasty range of pet munchies including Forth Glade, dog dinners, and even dog toothbrushes.
And food for dogs includes James Wellbeloved, Royal Canin, priced lower then recommended and the more unusual Yakers Dog Chews made from Himalayan Yak Milk.
Rachel said: “We cover all bases here, from bird food including suet pellets, meal worm and various seeds to dog toys, small animals’ foods, cat litter, bedding and toys.”
Customers can request orders and Village Pets can deliver in a 12mile radius.
Rachel added: “We have even had shoplifting dogs as sometimes pets are too anxious to wait for the owner to pay!
“And one dog which was tied up outside the Coop got free and decided to come here to do his own shopping.”
Village Pets is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am-5.30pm, Saturday from 8.30am-4.30pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm.
