SADDLEWORTH GOLF Club’s Village Shield was won by the team representing Grasscroft, Grotton and Lydgate.
Stuart Frost, Graham Wildbore, James Nield and Lee Tilley amassed 152 points in the team Stableford. And Frost was the overall individual winner with a score of 40 points.
A yellow ball competition held within the event was won by Graham Hall, David Swallow, Glenn Wilkinson with 39pts.
The captain’s charity day, a four-ball Stableford, saw Steve Askwith and Sean Mooney emerge the victors with 45 points.
Runners-up were Lee Tilley and Rob Norbury (44pts) while third place went to John Davis and Mike Shore with 42 points.
The first of the turkey competitions saw Nigel Cooper and Nick Kerin head the field with a score of 64. Second were Eddie Mills and Stewart Potts (65) while third were Lee Tilley and Andy Wilde (66).
The next turkey event had a bogey format with Dean Jagger and Nick Kerin winning with a score of nine up against the course.
Duncan Midgley and Steve Castle (8up) were runners-up while third place went to Mark Spratt and Martin Heap (7up).
The last turkey event, a Sunningdale, produced a victory for Tony Head and Bernard Houghton with a medal score of 70 as they won on the card from Giacomo Cavallino and Neil Mooney. Third were Barrie Lees and Neil Mooney who were one shot behind.
Winners of a women’s two-ball Stableford was Linda Kenworthy with 34 points, three clear of runner-up Denise Brown.
The shotgun turkey shoot, a 12-hole competition, saw Linda Newman emerge the victor with 26 points from runner-up Sue Booth with 24.
