Jon Baylis has had a passion for the weather since the age of six, when he experienced extreme cold winters to blazing hot sunshine and torrential thunderstorms while living in America.

Using his own personal weather station to record statistics including temperature, rainfall, humidity and wind speed, gusts, and direction, he provides forecasts across Oldham.
Here, he gives a brief outlook for the weather over the next few days.

Finally we’ve had a Bank Holiday Weekend without rain and a reasonable spell of weather. It’s been not too hot and much drier than previous months but will it continue?
High pressure will be sitting to our northwest on Thursday allowing a cool breeze to develop across the region. It will also be cloudy with some light rain around. Drier into the evening but bright spells limited. Max 15°C.
As well as it being dry and mainly cloudy, some bright spells will try to develop on Friday, but we keep the north-easterly breeze. Max 16°C.
It looks like the weekend will improve as it goes on. Saturday will be cloudy with a risk of localised drizzle or light rain and a little breezy. It should dry up into the afternoon as high pressure remains close by. Max 16°C.
As we enter Sunday more sunshine is likely as the cloud of recent days breaks up and pleasant sunny spells develop. A bit warmer too. Max 19°C.
As we go into next week that looks good too with warm conditions and staying dry. Temperatures might sneak into the 20s before showery rain poses a threat from the southwest later in the week which could signal a change.
