Wedding dress worn in Coronation Street up for grabs at unique auction

CORONATION Street fans have a rare chance to get their hands on a piece of memorabilia from the popular television soap.

The wedding dress worn by Eva Price in Coronation Street

The wedding dress worn by Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley, in episodes aired this September is up for auction at The Royal George in Greenfield on Saturday, November 11.

The dress is a size 12, by  designer Mori Lee, Madeline Gardner and comes with a certificate of authentication, and will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with a reserve price set.

The auction will take place after a comedy night at the Greenfield pub, and both have been organised to raise funds for Stalybridge Celtic Juniors’s U14s team.

The hilarious line-up will see Steve Shanyaski, Troy Hawke, Dylan Gott, and MC Rob Riley take to the stage.

Bored of his day job, Stockport’s Steve Shanyaski walked out the door and straight onto the comedy stage, and hasn’t looked back since.

Endlessly charming, Steve’s inherent warmth and cheeky, roguish twinkle shines through his material, elevating him to quite another level as a performer.

Troy Hawke, the latest character from comedian Milo McCabe, is as believable as he is blisteringly funny.

He dresses like a matinee idol, speaks in perfect received pronunciation and is completely at odds with the world around him.

Whether recounting an afternoon at the football with ‘the chaps’ or engaging in ‘audience badinage’ with the front row you can be sure the laughs come thick and fast.

The bill is completed by Dylan Gott, a Canadian comic who had a one-man show at the Toronto Fringe in 2012 before coming to the UK and making the finals of the Laughing Horse new act of the year 2015.

Tickets cost £10 in advance from Paul Hafford: 07852 877469 or £12 on the door.

The show is at The Royal George, Manchester Road, Greenfield on Saturday, November 11, doors open 8pm for 8.30pm start.

Very strong language throughout. All acts subject to change.
