ALFIE the Shitzhu has more than a kennel to call home – he’s got a new shop named after him.
Alfie’s Attic is a business on Lees High Street specialising in reclaimed, renovated and re-purposed furniture.
The official launch of Catherine Finney’s shop took place last month with interested browsers, customers and VIP guests.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shadab Qumer, was in attendance. So too, Saddleworth West and Lees councillor, Adrian Alexander.
“It was a brilliant afternoon,” said proud Catherine, a clothing designer by trade who previously ran her business from Warth Mill in Diggle.
“The Mayor reckoned it wouldn’t be long before we had outgrown the shop and needed bigger premises.
“He was especially taken with a picture of Muhammad Ali in our upstairs gallery, Subspace Studio, run by Simon Mound.
“We’ve had really good feedback and we are pleased to be part of the business community in Lees,” added Catherine.
