WI ends 2014 with a bang

GET YOUR thinking caps on and join the Saddleworth Women’s Institute for their annual quiz on Sunday, November 9 as they continue their fundraising efforts.

The quiz will be held at Greenfield Conservative Club. Doors open at 7.30pm for 8pm start. Maximum of six per team and entry fee of £1 per person.

Then their final meeting of 2014 will be on Wednesday, December 3 when they will host their traditional Christmas get-together.

This follows their Christmas market at the Saddleworth Hotel on November 5, when around 30 stalls of festive goodies and mulled wine were on sale for early bird shoppers.

All profits from the evening will go to the WI’s chosen charity of 2014, Oldham Bereavement Support Service.

They would like to thank the whole community for their support in 2014 and hope this will continue into the WI’s centenary year of 2015.

They already have several events planned to mark this special occasion, starting with a Centenary Celebration afternoon tea in March to coincide with the 2015 Centenary of World War One. Further details in January.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
