IT MIGHT not have been the Open at Carnoustie but 17 teams enjoyed a great day’s golfing at Saddleworth Golf Club raising £3,900 for Egerton Street Youth Zone.
Organised by Muse owner, Rob Norbury, the event attracted a variety of local businesses including: Pearson Legal, the Hare and Hounds and Grandpa Greene’s.
The aces in the hole turned out to be Wilds of Oldham, captained by Andrew Wild.
“We are proud sponsors of Mahdlo and it’s a pleasure to be involved with their events,” he said.
“As a company it’s really important to invest in the youth of the town and I encourage others to get involved.”
Muse in Uppermill provided a post event buffet, with Rob saying: ”Mahdlo is a great charity and to be able to see where the money raised is being used brings it closer to home.”
Lucy Lees, Deputy CEO at Mahdlo said: “The money raised will be used to help fund our ‘Get Sorted’ programme which includes mentoring, brew club and counselling.
“For many of our members these programmes provide a lifeline and additional support when they need us most.
“We can’t thank Rob and his team at Muse, and everyone who entered a team enough for their generosity and support.”
The next Mahdlo fundraising event will be the Winter Ball on Saturday, November 10. Tickets are now on sale now and start at just £75. For more information contact Claire Crossfield or Lucy Lees on 0161 624 0111.
