ARE YOU looking for a challenge as well as a way to focus your New Year’s resolutions to get fit?
With the Peak Fit Challenge you can get active at the same time as having fun.
On Saturday, February 15 participants will set off from the Civic Hall in Uppermill at 10am to take on the seven-mile walk and one peak in around three hours.
Around 40 people took part in the event last year and this time around the organisers hope it will be even bigger and better.
All are welcome to take part in the free event, which is organised by Peak Fit Saddleworth, and hot soup and brews will be provided at the finish.
If you want to take part but need help to get in shape for the challenge join the Peak Fit Walking Training Programme.
Or you can go along to Peak Fit’s weekly classes – with the first class free for Saddleworth Independent readers.
Classes are Body Tone Circuit and Core Strength at 7-8pm on Tuesdays at the Civic Hall in Uppermill (£4) and Outdoor Circuit at 9-10am on Sundays at Dove Stone reservoir (£3).
Peak Fit Saddleworth provides exercise and diet sessions as well as programmes delivered by a state-registered dietician and exercise professional.
Beth, Peak Fit’s exercise leader who has ten year’s experience, said: “Our plans and sessions support you in making enjoyable lifestyle changes that will help you to lose weight, tone up and feel great.”
