Win tickets to ‘New Year’s Viennese Gala Concert’ with Hepworth Brass Band

LAUNCH into 2018 in style with a first ever ‘New Year’s Viennese Gala Concert’ at the Civic Hall in Uppermill.

The special evening on Saturday, January 27 has been organised by Phil Beckwith of Champion Brass Promotions to celebrate the music of the Strauss family, Franz Lehar and many more.

The evening will feature Yorkshire’s Hepwood Band, led by musical director Leigh Baker, who will play a variety of marches, waltzes, polkas and overtures.

And top soprano Sarah Ogden will be a wonderful addition to the entertainment, performing a number of tunes in each half of the concert.

Guests will each receive a glass of ‘fizz’ on arrival and compere for the evening will be David Hoyle, from BBC Radio Lees ‘Yorkshire Brass’.

Phil said: “This is our first ever Viennese Gala and hopefully it will be fantastic start to a new series of concerts this year.

“It promises to be a great night full of wonderful music from some of the best writers and arrangers, played by top Yorkshire Band Hepworth Band.

“We are looking forward to the evening and hopefully it will be a great start to a great year, including concerts with Black Dyke in October.

“Thank you for all your support in 2017 and hopefully it will continue in 2018.”

The New Year’s Viennese Gala Concert will be held on Saturday, January 27 at the Civic Hall in Uppermill, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £13, (concessions £12) and are available from Phil Beckwith on 07976 165815, Saddleworth Museum or Post Offices in Greenfield, Uppermill, Delph and Diggle.
