A TALENTED pianist who delights audiences around the world is stopping off to perform in Saddleworth this month for one night only.

She has put together a varied programme including Haydn, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Debussy, Rimsky-Korsakov and Rachmaninov.

“I’ll stop to speak to the audience in between pieces as well,” explained Clare, who last played in Saddleworth in April 2015.

“It’s a nice way to build a connection and make sure they are enjoying the experience.
“I’m pleased to be asked to come back. It is a lovely place to play.”

Clare, 33, first pressed the keys of a piano aged six years old and by the age of eight she had decided she wanted to be play professionally.

“My mum was keen for me to learn to as she had never had the chance to learn an instrument herself,” said Clare.

So followed decades of practising and performances in concert halls and at festivals world-wide.

In 2015, she starred as the young Miss Shepherd in the film adaptation of The Lady in the Van by Alan Bennett and recorded the film’s soundtrack with George Fenton, the Philharmonia, and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

And in 2016, she was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist award.

Clare returned to performing in February this year after having her second child, and has already played in Warsaw, Sweden, Scotland, France and Norway as well as across the UK.

Her supportive husband looks after their children at home in Gloucestershire, allowing Clare to share her passion and talents across the globe.

See and hear her for yourself at Millgate Arts Centre, Delph, on Wednesday, October 17 starting at 7.30pm.
