CARING Oldham solicitors are teaming up for the third Annual Will Week in aid of Mahdlo Youth Zone.
Held from March 4-8, local residents are encouraged to join in and have their will written in turn for a donation to Mahdlo.
Participating Solicitors include North Ainley on Clegg Street (0161 624 5614) and Wrigley Claydon on Union Street (0161 624 6811). To book, call your chosen solicitor quoting MAHDLO.
John Ainley, partner at North Ainley, said: “Surprisingly, over half of adults in the UK have not made a will, which can have unfortunate legal consequences.
“These can be avoided by simply making an appointment with a solicitor of your choice who will give you friendly advice and guide you through the process.
“Everyone over the age of 18 should consider making a will, not only to deal with finances but also, for example, arrangements for young children.”
Rachel Damianou, from Wrigley Claydon, added: “Trusted for 200 years, Wrigley Claydon is proud to be involved in Mahdlo’s Will Week, helping raise funds for Oldham’s youth.”
Claire Crossfield, Mahdlo’s Development Manager, commented: “Last year’s Will Week campaign was really successful and we are hoping that with even more companies on board this year’s week will help us raise even more funds to support our delivery programme with young people.
“The generosity of the local solicitors and people means we can continue to grow and develop much needed services which will have a lasting impact upon our members’ lives.”
Opened in 2012, Mahdlo Youth Zone provides activities and practical support for young people aged 8 – 19 (25 with disabilities) to come together, learn new skills and address any issues they may face.
Yearly membership is just £5 and entrance to each session is just 50p. For more information visit www.mahdloyz.org
