A FOOTBALL starlet from Greenfield has been snapped up by Premier League giants Manchester City after scoring a record-breaking 100 times in one season.

Luca Pemberton, 7, notched up the goals in just 18 games last season during his first year with Chadderton Park Griffins Under 7s.
The tally is the highest ever in the club’s history and helped Luca’s team to league and cup victories to add two trophies to his individual achievement.
And his impressive performances caught the eye of Manchester City, who have chosen him to join their Select Under 8’s team after training trials at Cheadle.
He will now train with them at their new facility at the Etihad twice a week.
Luca said: “I like scoring goals! My favourite position is left mid and I can play with both feet.

“Manchester United asked me to train with them too and I said no!”
His mum Melanie added: “I am super proud of him and I hope he keeps his passion as he gets older.”
Football-mad Luca is an Oldham Athletic fan with Jonathan Forte his favourite player.
He regularly goes to games with his dad Gary and is looking forward to using his ticket in the new stand.
He is also a keen cricketer and plays for Saddleworth with brother Zak and stepbrother James.
