HUNT DOWN heroes and villains across Saddleworth’s countryside during this year’s Delph Donkey Scarecrow Trail.

From May 24 to June 9, scarecrows will be scattered in a trail from the A62 crossroads up to the Old Bell Inn, onto Hillend, Delph Primary School, down Pingle Lane and back through the village via the Chapel Gardens.
Awards are given for the best scarecrows, and staff at The Old Bell Inn have chosen a pirate theme as they look follow up their victory last year.
Guides for the trail, which is organised by the Delph Community Association, are available for £1.50 from Delph Post Office, Delph Library and Uppermill Museum.
All proceeds go towards Delph Library and village improvements, and some of the donkeys will be on show until Monday, June 20 after the competition has ended.
